BPEL server compatibility. 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi,

Is it possible to publish the BPM Designer/BPEL project in a different server? I see the Enterprise Edition shows JBOSS support in its list. Does it mean that I can upload my BPM designer project in a JBOSS 4.4.X, instead of the Intalio Server?
Thanks.

Hi Salvo,

the EE is supported if deployed on top of a JBOSS server, ie Intalio on JBOSS.

The BPEL you produce is of course standard, so you can reuse it an other tool. AFAIK jBPM does not support BPEL 2.0 though, but I might be wrong.

Thanks,

Antoine

Thanks Antoine.

I have asked further details of the Intalio Enterprise subscription to your colleague in sales. I might be wrong or still confused with some details.

The JBOSS JBPM at http://www.jboss.org/jbossjbpm/bpel/ states that the version 1.1.1 now supports BPEL 2.0. If I understand correctly your answer, if I have JBOSS Application Server, the Jboss JBPM 1.1.1 and the Intalio Designer for LINUX, all running in a LINUX server, in theory I should be able to deploy the generated Intalio Designer BPEL code and project into a JBOSS BPEL platform, right? I am interested in the verification of the "loose coupling" and the compatibility. Not sure it's so easy to achieve in practice.

Regards.

You would not be able to deploy directly to jBPM, you can take the BPEL and WSDL files and try to deploy them in jBPM. We do not support jBPM, only running Intalio|Server as contained in the JBoss App server as part of the EE.

If you were to find a problem exporting the BPEL generated by Intalio|Designer to jBPM, we will be happy to investigate.

Thanks,

Antoine
