BPMN to BPEL 7 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello,
I'm new to the Intalio BPMN Designer as well as the Intalio BPEL Server. Are there any Whitepapers or any piece of documentation on how Intalio maps BPDs to BPEL4WS documents? Does anyone know what algorithms are used?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help,
Benjamin Rogge

Thanks Antoine. I encountered this presentation already in my search. However, it is more a exemplary description.

I need a very detailled description, if it exists. In the best case, someone knows a mathematical description of the transformation algorithm, that Intalio uses. Do you think there is this kind of paper ?

Benjamin, I am one of the core developers of Intalio|Designer, and besides the presentation you read, we have no public documents stating how we transform BPMN to BPEL. This information is available to Intalio partners though.

This functionality is too critical for us to expose it, it's the whole point of Designer.

Thanks,

Antoine

Thanks for your help and information. I figured that this is very ciritical data.

Just in case you're wondering, I'm writing an essay about the automation of a business process in my company and since it is part of my studies in university, I have to discuss the mathematical foundations of the technologies I use, too. Apart from being interested personally.

Thanks again,
Benjamin

For anyone, who is interested in this topic, there is an exellent essay about mapping BPMN to BPEL: Translating BPMN to BPEL.
Also, subsection 11 of the BPMN Specification gives a rather informal approach in prose.
