process response : how to assign values to fields? 2 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 1
Hi,

I am facing the following issue : I have a process response message with a "complex" structure (1 root element, 2 levels, several fields).
In my process I initialize this response with a litteral, which works fine; then I try to assign a value to one of my response's fields : the designer doesn't complain and my process deploys fine on the PXE server but when I attempt to execute it, the process never completes and I get a "the operation may complete in the future" timeout error.
The only way I managed to get my response is as follows :
- add a field "response" to the Request message
- declare a Response message that has exactly the same structure as the Request (same schema)
- assign this field "response" with the value I want
- assign the Request message to the Response message.

So if I summarize my pb, it seems that :
- a Response message can only be assigned with a complete message, but one can not modify one of its fields along the process
- the issue doesn't exist concerning the Request message, which may be modified without any problem.

Could you please tell me where that comes from? is it a bug or...?
Thanks very much,

Nancy

This type of behavior may happen if your transformation is incorrect or if you try to copy values to a target node that was not initialized.

Please send us your n3x and the generated BPEL.

hi,

Unfortunately I can't send anything now because it is one someone else's PC, and this person happens to be on holiday. I should be able to send the n3x and the bpel on Tuesday the 18th.

Cheers

Nancy

I'm the colleague and i'm back from vacation.
B)

I've attached the n3x file, the xsd and the wsdl files involved in the process.

Before each web service call, first i initialize the parameters data with a default value and then i do a "field to field" mapping.
The webservice calls are successful but the last mapping for the response seems to fail.

How and where must i do the mapping for the process response ?
Thanks, Jerome
