Hover a pool or a subprocess, press Ctrl+Space, then select the dataobject with a dollar icon.
It will create a variable. Then right-click on the variable, and select the initialization options from the menu.

I now this topic is some old but my questiin deal with dataobjects.
I'm not sure about the scope of this dataobjects. I have created some dataobjects inside a subprocess and I can't map with all the tasks or gateway conditions becouse it doesn't appear in the mapping window. I can do it whith just a task.
Anyone can help me, please? Thanks!!

I had the same problem, but i solved.
If you create a variable into a subprocess you can use it only in it. You must put it into the workflow pool and then you can use for all the task.
And about the mapper, you must disable filters. They appears over the mapper on the rigth. It is a small figure with three arrows. Push it and you will see the variables to map them.
I hope it helps you.

Thank you very much. The problem was exactly in the filter. The filter hides me the non-inizializated variables.
