I figured this. If the web service is not a simple web service you need to deploy the web service on axis2 by creating a axis archive file(aar file extension). Once that is done. Invoking it from Intalio is like invoking any web service in intalio like the one in the samples to call Database or send email etc. Hope this helps folks who are stuck on this issue like me.
