Publishing BPMN diagrams from designer 7 Months ago Karma: 8
I can see a need to be able to publish diagrams from designer (for discussion approval process, documentation..). For example, I used an example BPMN diagram in my blog
to get it there I had to
1. Edit Select All the diagram elements; then Edit Copy
2. Edit Paste (BitMap) into a blank Open Office Drawing
3. Export the OO.Org drawing as JPEG
4. Upload into blog

While this long process gives me a chance to think about what I am doing ... a File Save As to jpeg in designer would be welcome and more direct. Yes, I know that you create an svg file but I have not found an effective way of publishing that. Any better way?

Bugs?
The process described results in the hidden content of a sub-process box appearing on top of the output diagram at the Intalio Designer creation of bitmap stage .

There also appears to be a problem with linking messages to the edge of a Pool. You can start drawing a message from the edge of the pool but messages drawn terminating on a pool end up at a single point in the middle of the pool
(see example referenced above)

(using v 5.2.0.091 which is a great improvement!)

You can export as an image by right-clicking on the diagram background and selecting File>Export as image, or in the menu File>Export.

The messages between pools are still a work in progress:

Re:Publishing BPMN diagrams from designer 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hey,

As an IT consultant, I've used the last few weeks Designer intesively for BP modelling at my clients office.
I've exported the models as JPG files, to import them in my analysis documents.
I'm relatively new to Intalio Designer, but I found it very strange that there in no feature to publish my models as an HTML document (my customer wants to publish the models on his intranet).
Exporting all the models as JPG files isn't exactly what I want to do, because it's very time consuming.
Isn't there any possibility to export the models as an HTML-document?

Thanks,
Sven

Not at the time,

but that is a very good idea for a D3 project. Could you please open a D3 equest for this ?

Thanks,

Antoine

If you deploy your design to BPMS, the Intalio BPMS server will also serve up your diagrams as SVG, PDF or PNG as in the BPMS-Console. For example ...

http://localhost:8080/bpms-console/diagrams?pid={http://example.com/He...
SVG works best for me in Firefox.

There is an issue in knowing the pid ... it comprises namespace+Process Name+Version where the version is a serial applied over all processes. So as you deliver completed diagrams or updates you need a mechanism to maintain an index page.

You could also embed the SVG within an HTML page that fits with your organisation's normal documentation.

You may feel that you are only doing the business process model and therefore you don't have to worry about executable versions of your BPMN but consider the benefits of completing the design to the executable stage even if the rest of the application stuff is not built ...
The BPMN is validated
BPMN - BPEL is validated (you know that you have a buildable model)
Interfaces are set for others to design to (contract-first)
