XPDL to BPEL 1 Year, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Can Intalio Designer import XPDL and transform into BPEL. Or are there any tools available for XPDL -> BPEL conversion?

Thanks in advance
Riyaz

Thanks Shivanand,

The article Understanding BPMN-XPDL-BPEL Value Chain was very useful.

The article says, XPDL - is used to store and exchange the BPMN process diagram b/w products of different vendors and BPEL - is the actual execution language.

My requirement is similar. I have a Business Process designed in Tibco Business Studio. The process is in XPDL format. Can Intalio BPMS Designer import this XPDL and generate BPEL which I can deploy in Intalio Server?

Thanks & Regards
Riyaz

Hi Riyaz,

Intalio|BPMS Designer cannot currently import XPDL but this can be a great Demand Driven Development (D3) feature. Intalio|BPMS Designer can import ARIS EPC models and having an XPDL import could be a great addition.

If you are interested in that feature, I recommend that you add it to the list of D3 features here.

Regards,

Arnaud

I forgot to add to my previous post:

Can you please describe the features that are part of Tibco Business Studio that you like most and cannot find in Designer?
It would be helpful to understand what modeling features people are looking for in Process Environment in order to implement them.

Thanks for your help,

Arnaud

I actually don't think it makes sense to import XPDL. I however think it may be interesting for people who want to migrate from Tibco to Intalio|BPMS to provide this capability. XPDL was developed for workflow processing. It is not adapted to BPM 2.0, which is why the BPM industry has adopted BPEL 2.0.
