Licensing change: website, 5.1, 5.2 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello Intalio Team,

I noticed a difference in the licensing texts: the one published on the website, the one included in 5.1CE distribution and the one included in 5.2CE. The text on the website (http://bpms.intalio.com/intalio-bpms-community-edition-license.html) matches the text in 5.1CE installer. However, this text does not match the one from 5.2CE installer. Here's the differing paragraph:

**** in 5.1CE and on website *****
(a) Term. Unless earlier terminated as set forth herein, the term of this Agreement shall commence on the date Developer completes the registration process and downloads the Intalio Software and continue for as long as Developer keeps one or more copy of Intalio Software.
**** in 5.1CE and on website *****

Taking other language into account, this means that the license is terminated either by violating the terms of license, or by Intalio, or by the Developer.

**** in 5.2CE *****
(a) Term. Unless earlier terminated as set forth herein, the term of this Agreement shall commence on the date
Developer completes the registration process and downloads the Intalio Software and continues for a period of 30 (thirty) days (the "Term").
**** in 5.2CE *****

Taking other language into account, this means that the license is terminated either by violating the terms of license, or by Intalio, or by the Developer, or AUTOMATICALLY in 30 days after registration of 5.2CE.

Does this mean that if I want to use the software until the license is terminated by Intalio for some reason (all I need is to draw the diagrams), then I better stick to 5.1CE or go for Open Source Foundations?

Your website states that the Community Edition is free (http://www.intalio.com/products/product-platforms/#editions). Could you please let me know if 5.2CE switched to shareware model?

Also, could you please give me a pointer to where I can find a reference on where to fetch the Open Source Foundations? I'd like to use the editor only, no code generation/deployment/etc.

Thank you,
Kirill

The BPMN modeler is available at http://eclipse.org/bpmn

I'll poll someone in the know to shed some light on the license issue.

Thanks,

Antoine

The license included in 5.2 is outdated. The right one is the one available at http://bpms.intalio.com/intalio-bpms-community-edition-license.html

5.2.1 will include the correct one. The release candidate will be out very soon, possibly later today.

Thanks,
Pascal.
