Use a WS to continue instance execution 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I'm new to the product so I hope this is an easy question but I can't see how to do it.

I would like to have a process instance wait until it is triggered to continue by an external system. Note I want this to be mid process - I'm not talking about triggering a new process.

The way I would like it to work is that a process is sitting waiting to continue from a particular task/step?

The external system makes a WS call to the server specifiying the appropriate process id variables in order to identify which process is to continue.

Can I do this? How?

Thanks

ali

It's so easy we should have it better documented.

Just reproduce the process that is presented on the IT|Redux post here:

Cheers,

Antoine

Hi,

Thanks for the hint. I've implemented a process as shown in the article and deployed. I can now see an extra web service representing the "intermediate message step". However there is nowhere to specify process instance ID or similar. When I call the service with a sample request it doesn't return anything and it didn't move on the process I have in a wait state on that point.

What is the last piece of the puzzle?

Thanks

Ali

You need to use correlation. Check out the samples for more information.

Thanks,
