Christophe,
designer.exe may be picking up the wrong jdk, or just a jre.
Try forcing the jdk to be used with one you know is 1.5.
designer.exe -vm C:\jdk1.5\bin\javaw.exe
Change the path to match your jdk installation directory.
Thanks,
Pascal.

Thank you Chandra and Pascal for your replies!

I tried all of your ideas, I installed on D: instead of C:, I re-installed the jdk, set all the environment variables to the jdk I wanted, forced the designer to use this jdk as described by you, Pascal, but nothing works. :-(

I still get this Error Window, this time with the new jdk path, but still the same problem.

Now I'm going to sleep over it :-)

Thanks very much to all of you,

Christophe

Thanks,

Christophe

Sorry to hear that. Can you attach the .log and designer.log file from the .metadata directory inside the workspace you specify?
Thanks,
Pascal.

Hello again,

I tried several times more installing the designer which works perfectly well, but when starting I still got the same problem. JVM terminates.

Here is the designer.log file from the .metadata directory inside my workspace. A simple .log file has not been created yet.

Hope you can do something with it.

Thanks,

Christophe
