Task deadlines 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0  
If i see the release notes of 5.2, it mentions about task deadlines.
But in designer i couldnt find any option for the same. Is it still to be done using timer activities or is there a better way

No you can do it in another way compliant with BEPL4PEOPLE .

In the Message of the task creation ( first message of the Create Task ), open the taskMetadata element and look for a scheduled actions element. This one contains a deferedActivation and expiration elements.
The expiration element is what you are looking for. It has to childs: "until" to specify a task Deadline date, and a "for" to specify a " duration" .
