This session is hopefully going to be something between a facilitated workshop, moderated forum, Q&A, and panel session.

In other words, who and how many attend the session, will determine the structure and format. Like that dynamic? Just like your processes changing, huh? Or does it make you feel a bit uneasy?

Nothing too technical, there are lots of other sessions to scratch those itches, oriented towards the business user who is trying to grasp how things sit and perhaps put together a strategic map.

Some of the items we could be covering:

SOA BPM ----- ROA BPM ----- mashup. Is this a continuum? What are the similarities / differences?

ROA BPM is for the web, as SOA BPM is for the business. Is that true? Do you agree?

RESTful engine API - any chance of standardising or will we see a multiplicity of approaches emerging?

BPEL. Right for resources? Or is there another way?

But ultimately the content is down to you. So be prepared to contribute.

You can start by adding your suggestions to this thread!

Great initiative Jason, unfortunately I have not been able to get anyone to fund my interest in Intalio so I will not be there but I think that it will be worth growing this into an ongoing discussion.
It is worth considering this subject from at least two directions
1. the BPMS/Intalio-centric (techo) viewpoint of how to make working with the tools to deliver a solution better/optimal/perfect.
2. the enterprise or even business sector viewpoint of how to engage with orchestration/choreography engines without having to wait years for a super standards body to come up with a mandated way (think SOX on acid)

I recently listened to Ron Jacobs of Microsoft talking on Oslo and REST ... it certainly seems that there will be a serious amount of effort made to style the way enterprises work into a RESTful way.
While an enterprise may choose to standardise on an all SOAP approach, external services may be provided through REST. Patterns of working with these should be developed so that we have an understanding of the limitations and benefits of REST. For example, how do you know that a REST service has changed its interface apart from the horrible crash?
