1) Ensure that Sun JDK 1.5 is installed, by enabling the Multiverse repository and installing through Synaptic (or KDE equivalent)

2) Download Java version of Intalio BPMS Designer and extract it into a convenient directory.

3) Ensure permissions allow it eclipse - Select the eclipse excecutable, right click, select properties and click on the permissions tag - check the "allow running as program" tick box

4) Create a menu item using the tool under System > Preferences > Main Menu. Give it a name (Intalio BPMS Designer) and the following command line:

/path/eclipse -vm /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/

where "/path/" is the full path to the directory you extracted the archive

This ensures that it is opened using the Java runtime 1.5 and not the usual ones you may have installed.
